Philosophy

Possehl is a company with a long and successful past as well as good future prospects. With certain philosophy and principles Possehl continues its positive development.

The most important maxim has ever been the entrepreneurial free space actually embodied in the operating units of Possehl. The Possehl companies operate autonomously concerning markets and customers. By this principle Possehl strengthens entrepreneurial responsibility in its various operating divisions and companies - one of the essential basics for enduring economic success.

Nowadays, the Possehl-Group still maintains an important rule stated by Emil Possehl: "Suum cuique, viribus unitis". He was convinced that his company only could be successful if all units and everyone sticks together regardless of any required autonomy in the respective parts. Actually, coordination of economic success and responsibility is provided by Possehl´s devolved management principles. The executive board manages the combined group with the staff departments Human Resources, Legal Affairs, Finance, Controlling, Accounting / Internal Auditing, Taxes and group-relevant PR. Apart from these functions the operational Possehl-companies act to the greatest possible extent autonomously.

Long-term view has ever played an essential role for Possehl. By this means Possehl has economically survived some crisis. Exclusively short-run success has never been intended. That is one reason why so many Possehl-companies keep their customer relationships in the long run more than ever before.

Confidence relating to business largely depends on matters of organisation. Right from the start Possehl attached importance to business activities as diversified as possible. This alignment set by company founder Ludwig Possehl (link "history") has proved itself until today.

To be open-minded for chances of several kinds of development, especially new business opportunities, is one further elementary principle at Possehl. Possehl constantly and intensively checks out all possibilities to lead the company to profitable growth. For this reason, Possehl has always turned towards new business segments and new partners for the purpose of creating innovations.
